Best Simple Practices You Can Adapt This 2022

As the famous line goes “new year, new life”, the year of 2022 offers everyone new chances to become more productive and responsible individuals. Everyone has their own life goals; it may be big or small. Some individuals pose yearly goals that they target to accomplish by the year ends. And in order to achieve these, one should adapt some practices to make the goal more attainable.

If you are one of the many who wanted to start the year right, you must keep in mind that big things start with the little ones. With this, with a view to have a fruitful year, you should have a productive day. Here we listed the best simple practices you can adapt this year 2022:

1. Get up before sunrise.

Start your day by waking up early. We may read on magazines that most billionaires wake up during early morn, around four to five. During these hours, almost no one can bother you so this early quiet time is suitable for meditation and how you are going to carefully plan the day ahead of you. Just to imagine if you wake up late, let us say nine to ten o’clock in the morning. Everyone is busy; you are stuck between a heavy traffic going to work or to an important meeting. Then, people in your destination will have negative impression of you or your boss will scold you.

Getting up early is not easy as it sounds so keep in mind that what you do tonight will greatly impact your next day. Your whole day might just get ruined because you gave in to the temptations of watching a drama late in the evening, thus waking up late. If you are not an early riser, plan your next day ahead during the evening. This will help you grasp how your next day will go and what time you should wake up in order to have a prolific day.

2. Exercise.

Gone are the days that exercise is only for the people with unfit body figure. When you search in YouTube, most instructors are fit and sexy and this just signifies that exercise is for everybody which means you are not an exception. No matter how busy you are, always find time to do some simple workout three to four times a week. Remember that exercise is not just a physical activity but a mental activity, too. It removes toxins and improves your hormones, keeping you at your best shape. Although exercise is advisable to perform during morning to help you be active throughout your day, exercise can be done at any time of the day, whenever suits for you. You do not need to be a gym member just to harbor the benefits of exercise because just within the comforts of your home or even in your bedroom, you can start working out. Like mentioned before, there are software applications that can help you start being fit and healthy like YouTube and Facebook among others.

3. Value your health.

Along the side of exercise is eating healthy. In a world full of fast food takeouts, sweets and ready-made snacks, love yourself by choosing to eat healthy. Did you know that the main cause of shortened lifespan of humans is due to what we eat? So if you want to achieve more things here on Earth, eat fruits and vegetables, balance your diet and learn to cook homemade food. And while learning to cook, avoid consuming MSGs and choose the organic ingredients if available. If you find eating healthy difficult, start by one meal at a time. Instead of going out for lunch, wake up early and cook your own food, put it in a lunch box and take it with you to work. Not only you eat healthy but you spend little, too.

Furthermore, health does not mean our physical health only. One of the most neglected facets of health is the mental health. Ever since the pandemic started, mental health issues, like mental abnormalities or illnesses, are slowly creeping in the population. Due to the downsizing of economy, billions of people are affected. So in order to cope up, many became resourceful. Take note that in life, we will have our lowest points but we must not lose heart. Everything is just a challenge we must overcome. Remember that you are the captain of your own ship. If life gets tough, it is okay to pause but never to give up. Currently, little by little, things are going back to normal. If there is too much on your plate, focus on the little matters first so that little by little, you will gather enough courage to face the big ones.

4. Learn a new skill.

If you are one of the people who find day-to-day business becoming more and more boring, then it is time to fix your schedule and add something thrilling. It is time to learn something new and interesting. If you fail to learn how to bike during your childhood, then borrow a bike and learn how to balance. If you fail to learn how to swim despite dreaming of a house with a swimming pool, then it is time to be comfortable in the waters. Keep in mind that it is better late than never. It helps you lessen regrets in your life and who knows? This new skill might become your hobby or better, if it becomes handy one day.

5. Do good.

Despite the harsh surroundings full of negativity and challenges, choose to become a light to others. It is true and some of us already accepted the fact that this world is not getting any better, thus turning worse and worse with each passing day. A little act of kindness is not a loss but a gain for us and this humanity. We do not know the inner struggles of the people we are dealing with so promoting goodness through empathy, appreciation and politeness should be part of our daily practice. Some values are now being neglected since we always think that other people have negative agenda but the truth is that we are all struggling to survive. Doing good deeds does not just help others but also shows the reflection of ourselves. Participating in donation drives, showing kindness to frontliners, sharing things to those in need, helping a friend and comforting those who lost a loved one are just some of many acts which you can do.

6. Do not take it to heart.

This just simply means avoid being too sensitive. Do not always take things personally. If your boss gave you an unsatisfactory rating on your work performance, this does not reflect your whole self and that rating do not define you. What defines you is how you are going deal with your task at work in order to gain a satisfactory or excellent rating by the next evaluation. Take criticism as an opportunity to grow and develop. Imagine, how you are going to get your goal if you will let yourself be hold back with negative comments? So, manage yourself. You know yourself better than anyone does. Allow yourself to receive criticism and take it into consideration and improvement. You will never know, perhaps that criticism will be your key to success.

7. Avoid criticizing others.

Are you familiar with the concept of prejudice and first impression? Prejudice is a tendency to judge one person without a solid reason while first impression is an impression made during the first interaction. Usually, prejudice and first impression involve negative thoughts or criticism towards a person. And this act or thought of criticizing others is wired in our brain. This signifies that we tend to judge others immediately before we realize it. Additionally, we have a tendency to overly focus on a single mistake despite a number of right or goodness. But even though this is a part of human nature, this does not mean that this is the end of story. Humans are high functioning creatures because we can control our urges and can think in complex manner. With this in mind, we should be able to properly use the information around us to segregate our thoughts and become more kind in action and in words towards others. Criticizing people only affects our social relationship which can possibly hinder our goals. So, next time we should be cautious not just with our actions but also on how we think. Remember that no man is an island so you cannot make it into your goal without the help of others. Be mindful; do not be easily swayed with the influence brought by social media.

8. Face your fears.

Lastly, get out of your comfort zone and take the risk. Life is full of adventure for you to take. You will never know that there is so much potential in you if you are not going to try. We should grow up and put ourselves in the battle ground of life and succeed with bravery and courage. You can face your fears by starting your very first investment. This may be your fear at first since you have no enough knowledge and experience but with quality time spent for research and conversations with your friends, you will realize that the only thing lacking is your action. So act on your dreams and start your new adventure. You may experience failures but that is part of success. Fear of failure is fear of success so begin now, face your fears and reach your goals.

It may be easier said than done but in order to have a successful year, we should take a look at ourselves first. Start with the little habits that can create powerful impact in your daily life. Act now and be consistent. You will thank yourself by the end of the year for a job well done.
